Blackberry Twitter Clients Smackdown: Seesmic, SocialScope, Tweeteev, Twixtreme, UberTwitter
This is definitely the main reason to get the 8GB one I'd say - And will surely be the reason I might wait and buy that one (when it comes to Denmark, sigh)
Regarding the 100mb "only" for messages, apps etc, it's not all that much truth be told. 1 Message equals 1kb, applications aren't that huge either, I doubt anyone would purposely fill it up - I hardly use most of the extra applications for my N73 for example.
Do you guys have any links for purchasing it online?
Pls urgent
Do you guys have any links for purchasing it online?
Also wats the cost of 8GB model currently in usa?
Pls urgent
1) MEMORY... DUH! The 8gb will have 128mb of RAM. They couldn't get away with anything less because the n95 is noticeably sluggish. It's the main reason for anyone to upgrade.
2) Will the 8gb have a more sturdy case? I can tell you how annoying it is to have a great phone with crappy buttons. It wasn't built well and I hope the 8gb shows how much you forked over for the device. It's in the details.
3) External versus internal flash memory. A few weeks ago I bought a SanDisk MicroSDHC 6GB and I'm pretty happy with it. Call me crazy but I prefer having the option! I bought a 2GB card a while back so I use both.
4) Another thing not mentioned on the 8GB is the lack of a cover for the camera. I don't know who this Carl Zeiss character is but I'm sure he's pissed (if he's alive?) that his fancy camera doesn't have a cover on the upgraded 8gb. It sucks when they get things right the first time and don't learn to leave it be...
Hope that helps, Ry
Any idea if there is a firmware upgrade or "hack" to do this? If so, then I'll change!
I install to the phone memory only if some apps need much use of repeated DLL tasks such as accellerometer, lightsabre, etc.
While N95 is cheaper, but I do think N95 8GB is a real money saver.
And o yes. It has 128 RAM (while N95 only has 64 RAM). And much much much faster with its new v15 firmware (specially for data-transfering GB's of vids to and from the PC). Make sure you use its software updater.
I own 1 n-95 on the uk three network it reports 160MB of ram with file manager & 75MB free to use so looks like
Three uk used a later N95-1.5 model.
I own 1 N-95 8Gb model and that reports that it has 100MB memory free so nuff said N95-8GB has more user ram.
Here is the knock out N951.5 using 16GB Sandisk N95-8GB stuck - no expansion.
Upgrade cost less than buying N95-8GB
It is clear that the access times on the SD are quicker than the N95-8GB but I dont know why. (£££)
I love the BL6 power in the N95-8GB so thats pulled back some turf.
What I don’t like is the missing lenses protection and yes we can all say the recess is good but that dust crud gets in the N95-8GB Boo, so this i find annoying as nokia will tell you it's for the new battery but come on we know it's to save a few quid to the N95-1 pulls the rope back in its direction as a point and (clear click device)
If we are going to insinuate that this is a digital camera replacement then have the decency to put the lenses cover back on the future model and give the bean counter who came up with taking it off a long holiday…………
Onto the screen well yes to the 8GB model "bigger"
Onto build quality (same - both so so)
CPU goes to the older N95 as the N95-8GB model has had its MHz/BHP watered down to squeez more battery life out
thus making this device pull less frames than the older N-95 so (Ngage fanboys would hide the fact they are using an older N95 when that day arrives soon
I must say the slower CPU makes me mad in the 8GB model as this just hitting the talk time quota, durrr.
As a phone they do the same job don’t you think?
Moving into Reality Street.
The N95-8GB does make me feel like Nokia are trying to morph this Phone into a iphone and that is a real shame as the Iphone is a so so phone that offers functions like 2mp (haha) camera and no MMS (jeezzus). Check out the N95 clones (they are crud but they have better functions in that area than the iphone (no 3G haha) clones do that two for fifty pee. I can see were Nokia are trying to go to protect their market share from those naff iphones and when you see the road map for the next incarnation it will have 16GB ohh guess what – that’s the number for the iphones new one.
(I wish I had a way of sticking fruit on so so consumer products and charging double the going rate.
Let’s face it both these two products are the produce of mad scientists at Nokia who have created a family of phones with cutting EDGE features.
I cant decide my favorite of the two as they have there annoying bits
When I was on holiday I used the N95-1 for filming and filled up two 16GB memory cards with footage over 3 weeks (mostly 30 FPS) but was hitting the spare battery more than I would have liked…. So 1200 ma would have been welcomed there.
I watched Spiderman on both phones and the .2”inch or so made some difference but when I moved the older N-95 about 1” closer they looked the same so you decide….
Bla Bla
On a final word to most non tech users /consumers I would go with the N-95 8GB as a media companion and a replacement to those horrid apple ipod things.
For cleaner camera shots and memory hungry apps or games FPS I nerdly stick with the older N95 with 16GB SD cards.
So take your pick guys they are booth as cool as cucumbers don’t you agree but as we all know in a perfect world the 8GB model should have,
1, Kept the lenses protection (clear pictures)
2, Kept the SD slot (penny pinching)
3, Kept the CPU Mhz (FPS in games)
4 Added a laser to vaporize those idiots who got slapped with apples nice pda OS / naff phone as a salesman I want a list of those punters………………………………………..
Then we would all be happy campers and not in corner camps having a go…
(Bet those iphone users with they had GPS so they could find their way out of the mess they got themselves into
All the best…………………………..
PS go and see this iphone nokia clip (cheer up).

I do it all the time on mine, you just have to make sure you select memory card as the location you want to install to.
